When building the new BESTBONUS website, our team thought of several different concepts and designs. The final decision was made after creating multiple wireframes and layouts based on each idea, testing them with potential customers, and comparing the results between each design. With so many factors to consider, it can be hard to know where to start when creating an attractive website.
We’re excited to announce that the new BESTBONUS website has finally gone live. As you can see, it’s completely different from our old site, and that was no accident – we wanted the rebranding process to include the creation of an entirely new look and feel, with totally new functionality and features so that it would be as much of a step forward as possible. While we were at it, we thought it would be fun to write about the design process behind the new site because there are some exciting things that not everyone might know.

What did we do?
We at Best Bonus like to keep an eye on what other companies are doing in their web design. We noticed that web designers have been using white space for years. It looks good, but it is also about functionality. When a designer uses less white space, people must work harder to find relevant information. That extra work takes time, so you have to pay more attention, increasing load times and bounce rates. To achieve our vision, we added white space than usual.
When we started our research for a new site to be built, we thought about what would work best with today’s audience. We decided that we needed to keep things simple but still make sure there was an effective way for users to understand our product and determine if it worked for them.
How we did it
We looked at our branding and began by looking at its most important aspects: logo, color, and typography. We’ll start with branding, then move on to overall style, layout, content, user experience, and development.
We also knew that people wanted something that could be easily navigated from their phones or tablet (people spend more time browsing from their phones than their computers), so responsive web design was a must-have.
The unexpected issues we faced
We ran into a few unexpected issues when we started working on BESTBONUS’s site. The first was that BESTBONUS existing site was built using Flash, which meant it wasn’t responsive and couldn’t be viewed on mobile devices. This is a common issue with older sites but one that can easily be fixed by rebuilding it in HTML5
Was it worth it?
When designing a website, one of our goals is to make sure that it’s easy for customers to find what they’re looking for. With over 50 casino games, we needed to develop a content structure to enable users to locate casino games more quickly. We examined all of our data and determined that if we arranged our games by category, then by type, and finally by game features, we could provide an intuitive game navigation system that would encourage visitors to stay on our site longer and return frequently.
In addition, we wanted to show off some of our most popular games in a prominent position at the top of each page. To accomplish these objectives, we decided to use color-coding and font size and style changes to highlight certain elements on each page without being distracting or overwhelming. The result was a clean-looking website with simple navigation that allows players to find their favorite games quickly.
